Today this verse speaks to me: "Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy.." Matthew 6:19

Ok, this is a real life observation made in my home last night. If you gather, heap and store in my attic the squirrels (we will call them the moth and worm) will take all of your heapings and chew through them and make their home in your Christmas decorations and last season's finds at Marshalls! We bought the old fashioned moth balls (a suggestion from a well intentioned friend). My careful, thoughtful and always on the ball smart husband didn't research this process. The man who researches the labels at the grocery, carefully plots out his purchases, this man. So he climbs up in the attic frustrated and starts throwing mothballs (75 to be exact) all over the place and believing himself to have conquered the war on rodents. Ah, not so fast there sparky. We now have a home that is well decorated and as of this morning smells like old people's bad breath. Yes, I said that because you and I know it is true. We are now searching for remedies to rid the stink...#helpussaveamarriage

My point? while we will continue to work to preserve the exterior and interior of our home, I am so glad that the stuff in that attic is not what I hold most dear, those items are being held in the safest place of all, my Father's house, where it smells I am sure like a precious baby after it's bath:) Enjoy the weekend friends, you are loved.
